Valley of Flowers
The Statue of Unity, situated at Kevadia Colony in Gujarat, boasts the captivating Valley of Flowers as one of its prime attractions. Initially developed across 250 hectares in the first phase, there are plans to extend its expanse to 3000 hectares in subsequent phases, ultimately covering a total area of 3200 hectares. Within this scenic valley, two lakes, namely Poyani and Kamal, have been meticulously crafted. Embracing an advanced drip irrigation system, the entire Valley of Flowers showcases a breathtaking array of blooms. This innovative system is dedicated to nurturing the diverse flora that adorns the valley. Enveloping the Statue of Unity, there is a vibrant 17-kilometer-long display of colorful flowers along the banks of the River Narmada, creating a mesmerizing spectacle akin to a terrestrial rainbow of blossoms. The Valley of Flowers boasts a rich biodiversity, featuring over 100 varieties of flowers, including the vibrant Gulmohar (red), pristine Champo (white), striking Khakhro (red), alluring Pongaro (red), and an array of shrubs such as Galtora (red and yellow), Tecoma (yellow), Garmado (yellow and red), Boganveliya (yellow, pink, white, and red), Nerium, as well as climbers like Wadeliya bamboo, Allamandacathartica, and Qualisis. Additionally, the landscape is adorned with colorful grasses, and throughout the seasons, various flowers like Calendula, Sunflower, Vinca, Marigold, and others grace the Valley of Flowers.
