How to Reach Statue of Unity by Train

Train is one of the easiest and most budget-friendly ways to reach Statue of Unity. Indian Railways has built a dedicated station right next to the monument, so you don’t need to depend on long taxi rides after you get off the train.

➔ Nearest Railway Station
The nearest railway station is Ekta Nagar Railway Station (station code EKNR), earlier known as Kevadia Railway Station. It is only 5 to 7 km from the Statue of Unity.
The station is modern, clean, and built specially to handle tourist traffic. Once you step out, auto-rickshaws, taxis, and shuttle buses are easily available to take you to the statue in 10 to 15 minutes.

➔ Trains to Ekta Nagar
Direct trains connect Ekta Nagar Railway Station with Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Mumbai, and Delhi. Vadodara is well connected by the Jan Shatabdi and other express trains, and this route takes around 2 to 2.5 hours.
Since train timings and routes change from time to time, it is best to check current timetables on the IRCTC website or app before you plan your date of travel.

How to Reach Statue of Unity by Road

Road travel gives you the most flexibility, especially if you are travelling with family, elderly members, or in a group. You can stop for photos, food, or rest whenever you like, and you don’t have to match a train or flight schedule.

➔ By Private Vehicle or Taxi
From Ahmedabad, the drive to Statue of Unity takes about 3.5 to 4 hours covering roughly 200 km, mostly via the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway followed by state highways through Bharuch and Garudeshwar. The roads are in good condition, and the last stretch into Kevadia is a well-maintained four-lane road.
From Vadodara, it’s a much shorter drive of around 90 km, taking close to 2 hours.

➔ By Bus
GSRTC (Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation) runs regular buses to Kevadia from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat. Several private luxury bus operators also run packaged one-day trips from these cities, which include pickup, drop, and sometimes even meals and tickets.

Why an Organised Tour Package Works Best by Road

Our 1-night or 2-night Statue of Unity Tour Packages include A/C pickup and drop, entry tickets, meals, attraction tickets, hotel, resort, tent city stay, and a Gujarati-speaking guide, so you can simply relax and enjoy the trip. How to Reach Statue of Unity by Air

Flying is the fastest way to reach Gujarat if you’re coming from another state or country, but keep in mind that Statue of Unity itself does not have a commercial airport. You will still need a short road journey after landing.

➔ Nearest Airport
Vadodara Airport is the nearest airport to Statue of Unity, located about 90 km away. It has good domestic flight connectivity and works well if you want to minimise road travel time. From Vadodara Airport, a taxi to Kevadia takes around 2 hours.

➔ Ahmedabad Airport
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is about 200 km from Statue of Unity. Since it is an international airport, it has far more flight options, including flights from abroad, making it the better choice if you’re travelling from outside India or from cities with limited connections to Vadodara.

Which Travel Option Should You Choose?

✓ Choose train if you want a budget-friendly and comfortable journey, and you’re travelling from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Mumbai, or Delhi.
