Statue of Unity at Ektanagar in Narmada district of Central Gujarat will continue to remain open on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Guru Nanak Jayanti and Christmas.
Statue of Unity is kept shut for visitors every Monday for weekly maintenance. However three public holidays are scheduled on Mondays this year. They are Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, Guru Nanak Jayanti on 27 November and Christmas on 25 December.
The additional collector Gopal Bamania who looks after the arrangements and administration of Statue of Unity has announced a decision to make Statue of Unity available to visitors on these three Mondays.
However a decision has been taken to shut the place for visitors on Tuesdays 3rd October, 28th November and 26 December.
