The Taj Group will soon open two hotels close to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Union foreign minister S Jaishankar on Saturday 03 September 2022 laid the foundation stone for them in the presence of Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran and Taj parent Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) MD & CEO Puneet Chhatwal. The two hotels include a 125-room Vivanta and a 150-room Ginger.
“It is our privilege to be a part of the vision to develop a world-class destination in Ekta Nagar. The rapid growth of our footprint in Gujarat is an exciting development for IHCL, and these hotels will be a significant addition to our portfolio. Ekta Nagar is planned as a leading tourism destination in the country and IHCL, in partnership with the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. (SSNNL), will offer exceptional experiences for travelers with the two hotels.” Chhatwal said.
The upcoming Vivanta will have conferencing and wellness facilities. This greenfield project is slated to open in 2025, says IHCL. With these additions, IHCL will have 19 hotels in Gujarat including four under development.
